Your video and Audio card drivers are way out of date.
Update them to the latest drivers should clear things up for you.

Does not look to me like you have the VIA drivers, that is the first thing I look for when someone posts a Dx Diag.
Memory is low. at least 512 is preferred to run XP.

You may have a bad or inadequate Power supply.

You could try reducing the acceleration of your Video card a notch at a time.

I updated to the latest driver for the radeon 7500 and the problem went from CTD to a total system reboot. Is there some problem between the Radeon drivers and Paradox games? Ive been working with ATI for several months but they are completely unhelpful. Could there be a problem at the bios level?
I have a Radeon and Paradox games play rock solid on my machine.

Maybe try and increase your memory on your video card, not sure if you can do that or not. I have a RADEON 9600 with 128 of memory. Also might want to increase your system memory to 512. I have had a few CTD but they are random and have not had much problems. And update your drivers. :)
Please read a thread carefully before commenting in this forum, the drivers have already been updated. And memory has been commented on. ;)

Hey Thanks, as soon as I get home I am going to try working down the power usage. I will also check my cpu temp and see if that is causing trouble. Is there any way for me to increase memory, or should I just buy some more?
Memory is cheap now, and there is not really anyway to increase it more than you have without buying more as you say.

Did you try the acceleration at just one below full?

Is there no config or setup program with your version of the game?
Usually you can turn off the music and set the game resolution at least in there.

There should be a config file you can open fith wordpad.
You should be able to set no music option in that file.

You can disable the sound card in windows control panel, however I don't think the game will start if you do not have a sound card installed.

Just had a thought, try renaming the Music folder to Music_Old.

You may be okay with the sound effects, if this works out try putting that one back to normal. And if you want the music you can play the song in an MP3 player.
