Don't know if I am correct here.

But since aroudn the last DLC, my anti-Paradox-Empries and anti-random-Empires mods on Steam do not work anymore.
I used them to make solely the Empires spawn that I created myself and it worked well. Suddenly, there's only boring rnadom Empires spawning.

Was something changed with the game that those mods ceased to do what they did before? D:

I must say, this game is unplayable for me in this state. Quite subjective, of yourse, yeah, but still. :/

Not a tech support issue, so moved to te main forum for a wider audience.

Uh.

Why are you using a mod for this? Isn't it a base game feature?

It’s a base game feature to make custom empires spawn but you can’t stop random ones from spawning without mods

??? I have no clue what you're talking about. If you have 10 Custom Empires (not including what you're playing) set to Force Spawn, in galaxy settings have there be 10 AI Empires. Boom, all custom, no random.

Haha, yeah, no, it would be nice if that worked.

It doesn't. If you ahve 10 Empires force-spawned that means that these Empires come AFTER the Paradox Empires and are mixed into random Empires.

I am a huge sucker for custom Empires. I made 70 rather distinct factions with several AI personalities once as democracies, as crisis candidates, as ... yaddayadda.

It worked nicely, I only got my own factions. Now, it's a huge mess of random Empires all kinda the same, no soul in them with weak combinations of everything. For me personally, rather subjective I know, unplayable. As I want to see stories with my own protagonists rather than soulless creations of a machine.

And I hope to find someone here who can help me.

I searched my playset and... I forgot to uninstall another mod that fiddles with the spawns, of course leading to my mods conflicting and hence stop working alltogether.

Yeah. Was me all along. ^^;;

Why would you move it to the main forum, it's literally a bug that still exists to this day.
In that case it would go in Bug Reports, not Tech Support. However the two posts before yours contradict what you just said ... ?

No, people just haven't really tried it. As per screenshots below, only one of the three forced spawns actually spawned in.
I did like 15 tests and submitted a bug report, this issue appears to have been ongoing since at least May. Someone please fix it, it's really really really annoying. 20230816032720_1.jpg20230816032724_1.jpg20230816032744_1.jpg

What is the starting system of your force-spawned empires? It has to be Random if you want them all to spawn. The game will not reuse starting system, so if you use any other starting system for multiple premade empires only one can spawn. This includes using other starting system that have "random" as part of their name like Random Trinary II and Random Binary I. Those aren't truly random and count as specific systems. Only Random really counts as random by the game and can be reused.

I quickly tested my own custom empires and I could easily force-spawn them all with no random empires added, but I do make sure they all use Random starting system.

Already checked it, that's not the problem no matter how many people keep trying to point this out, it's NOT the issue. It doesn't seem to always appear, I am not sure what the difference is though, I suspect one of the origins causes the problem, but based on the 20+ tests I did by now, I don't know which origin causes the issue.
I did it with all hive minds, no hive minds, two relic world starts, no relic worlds starts, it appeared regardless. The one case where it didn't appear was when nobody had a special starting planet and there were no necrophages either.

UPDATE with screenshots, I am baffled by what it could be. This is extremely extremely weird. I tried SO many tests and it's still inconclusive what causes the issue.

The origins were my primary suspect, that maybe Remnants and Life Seeded conflict with each other, but nope, when I used two devouring swarms they couldn't spawn together.
20230816112009_1.jpg20230816112014_1.jpg20230816112026_1.jpg20230816112028_1.jpg20230816112042_1.jpg
But when I replaced the devouring swarm relic world start with another empire that doesn't have devouring swarm they did spawn correctly:

So then I tried what if I used the same empire, just replace the government trait from devouring swarm on that same empire, but they still couldn't so it can't be the devouring swarm trait. I tried changing them from a hive entirely and they still couldn't spawn together. Something else is causing the issue.

They don't share a portrait, one is avian the other is plantoid, they don't share names, they don't share origins, they don't share home systems, they don't share colours or ship sets, they don't share anything. So I figured, screw it, let's change the portraits, I changed it to a fungoid and then the portrait is bugged out, it shows the old one on the side, but the new one in the middle, but also they do not spawn together still. But the slight visual glitch did fix itself later.
20230816114441_1.jpg

The bug seems to start when the empires are first created, as when I 'rename' the Husk Horde over here to Husk Horde1 it of course creates a new empire on the list and that one CAN spawn with the Carrion Swarm.
So even if I edit things on the Husk Horde, it doesn't matter anymore, those two refuse to spawn together no matter what. The only way to get the empires to spawn together is to make a new one.
So here's what I did, I changed back everything on the Husk Horde except renamed it to Husk Hordes with an s and then they both spawned as normal. So please stop telling me it's the homeworld that's bugged, it's not, it's this entire empire for absolutely no reason, and who knows how many of the other custom empires I made also share the same problem that literally can't be fixed unless you make a new empire.

Oooh. Did you let the game generate the names for any of those empires? I forgot about it, because I custom name all my empires all the time and never had the problem, but that was a confirmed bug from a while ago. Empires wouldn't spawn unless the empire's name was entered manually. To fix old empires you could change the name, save to create a new empire in the list, then change the name back and overwrite the old empire with the original name. Finally you'd delete the new empire with the changed name. That would leave you with what is technically a new empire with a manually entered name, but to the player it just looks like the original empire.

Here's a link to the bug report: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...rated-name-randomize-name-3-7-2-e793.1568139/

It too have many custom empires (80+) all set to force spawn. Since the last dlc half the empires that spawn are random ones not my custom ones. This has prevented me from playing as long as I used too. I have more fun with my custom ones.

Hi!

Me again. ^^;;

So... I said it worked again for me. And it did! Though I bought the newest DLCs - and suddenly, nothing works anymore. It spawns not a single one of my own, custom Empires, only randomly created ones. Going into observer mode and debutooltip, all Empires have weirdest Empire IDs, rather than the normal 0 to 15 (for example), so I couldn't check anything without the observer mode.

Also, the mods themselves on Steam seem to have major problems, pointing to some fix of the spawning system Paradox needs to do?

Right now, like this, the game is AGAIN unplayable for me. :/
