Is there any way of displaying HoI2 in widescreen?

I am currently using a Benq 23" at 1920 X 1200, and would love to be able to see more of the map (preferably not stretched as it is now ) in high resolution.

I am new to the game and find the forum hints quite helpful. Thanks!

The game is designed to be used with a fixed resolution of 1024 x 768. There is no in-game method to change this resolution.
