recurring crash to desktop on load

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place.

I'm not sure what has happened. I bought the game a few days ago and was happily enjoying it when, an hour ago, the game crashed for the first time. I do not meet the minimum requirements as I was informed by canyourunit, but the game was running just fine (with a sub-optimal framerate) until just now. Since the game crashed it will not load back up. Every time I start the game it immediately crashes before even hitting the loading screens. Can anyone help me with this?

Assuming you are on Steam - use the Steam client option to verify the game's local file cache. If that doesn't help, uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.

If GamersGate: Move valued save games elsewhere, and uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 directories from where GG put them and from MyDocuments. Reinstall the game , download 1.05g patch again and apply it.
