Summary

I was playing as France and trying to complete the 'Second Time’s the Charm' achievement. When Regno del Sud spawns, everyone at war with Italy declares war on both Regno del Sud and me!

  • La Résistance
  • Battle for the Bosporus
  • No Step Back

  • Arms Against Tyranny
  • Trial of Allegiance
  • Götterdämmerung

Description

Every time the Regno del Sud spawns, I automatically go to war with every country that was at war with Italy — even if I never invaded Italy myself. This happens even when the Regno del Sud is created by the Allies, and I am not part of the Allies.
This issue has occurred four times:

Twice as Greece: I never invaded Italy and was war with them, but as soon as the Regno del Sud was formed by the Allies, I was magically at war with the Allies.

Twice as France: Even when I was forced to invade Italy and the Regno del Sud spawned, I was automatically dragged into war with every faction that Italy was previously at war with — without any logical reason.

Steps to Reproduce

Italy is at war with multiple factions and you.
You are not part of those factions.
Regno del Sud spawns.
You suddenly find yourself at war with Regno del Sud and all of Italy’s enemies, except if you are in a faction with them.

Are you playing on a save from the previous/older version of the game

No

You may have mistyped the second sentence in your bug report: "When Regno del Sud spawns, everyone at war with Italy declares war on both Regno del Sud and me!" I am not sure everyone at war with Italy also declares war on Regno del Sud when Regno del Sud spawns. The master nation of Regno Del Sud may remain at war with Italy, but not be at war with its puppet Regno del Sud.

I have experienced the event that you are describing. I am going to try and write out the steps in order that they are happening, as I understand your bug report. This may assist the devs in determining whether this is working as intended.

France is not part of the Allies faction.

France is at war with Italy, but not the Allies.
Allies nations are at war with Italy, but not France.
Italy is at war with France and the Allies.

Allies controls enough of Italy to cause the civil war event.
Italy breaks into two countries, Original Italy and New Italy.

Original Italy remains at war with France and the Allies. Original Italy is also now at war with New Italy.
New Italy inherits the wars that Original Italy was in before it formed, including being at war with France and the Allies.

New Italy becomes a puppet of one of the Allies nations. It may be the Allies nation that has the highest war score at the point of the Italian civil war.
New Italy, as a puppet of a nation in the Allies faction, joins the Allies.
New Italy, as a member of the Allies, becomes at peace with all nations in the Allies. New Italy is no longer at war with the Allies.

New Italy remains at war with France.
New Italy's master nation is now at war with France. Master nations automatically become at war with any country that their puppet is at war with, as I understand.

New Italy, as a member of the Allies, calls in other Allies nations in its war with France. The master of New Italy may actually do the call in, as they are also in the Allies and at war with France.
France is now at war with Allies.

Reactions:
That's problematic. Is Italy a non-aligned country before the civil war? It's always like start civil war between fascism and neutrality. It's like a non-aligned country become a civil tag bringing you to go war with everyone at war with Italy before the civil war while the fascist Italy after the civil war is not at war with everyone at war with Italy before the civil war. Well, you realize that Italy a non-aligned country before the civil war, right?

Yes, thats correct, happened on all my games. In the part "When Regno del Sud spawns, everyone at war with Italy declares war on both Regno del Sud and me!" I was referring to the one time I had Regno del Sud as a puppet, but still your steps in order are very accurate.

If you don't mind me asking a clarifying question, are you saying that one time you controlled enough of Italy to get the civil war event and have Regno del Sud as your puppet, and you and Regno del Sud still ended up at war with the Allies?

If so, I believe you, but I don't recall that ever happening on my runs. I regularly cap Italy, get Regno del Sud as my puppet, and don't think I have ever ended up at war with the Allies. It sounds like there may be something odd going on, for sure!

I was in war with Germany and Italy, Italy was in war with the allies and every other faction in the world. I was trying to do Second Time’s the Charm just trying to pass through Germany to get to Soviet union, I wasnt planning joining the allies because I was planning to invade them after the achievement, they even invited me to the allies and the when I got Regno del Sud as a puppet, I found my self in a global conflic I couldnt manage, I didnt had enough troops, no manpower, and to keep everyone at once while still having a lot of debuffs, I was a total waste of time.
