Hi all,

how does this work? I have IC 1.02 on ARMA 1.2 and I can sometimes choose my unit strength(as Sweden), sometimes it`s chosen for me(as France).
Playing with DrBobs AI-mod, meaning 1933 start.

When and how can I bring up my units strength or fully mobilize?

Grateful for tips.

Rgds, Oldtimer

You can deactivate the mobilization system:
db\events_34\eventos_mod34\newfeatures_34.txt

Find event : 713500, select to end of file (including 713500 event), delete, save and play

Or, if you want, you add more events, modify others, add options, add new posibilities :)

The mobilization system is a feature with many posibilities, you can represent divisions with 3 or 4 regiments, or special units,...

Hi,

I have upgraded to 1.02 on ARMA, XP Home SP3 and started playing 1933 with Dr Bobs 2a mod, with fog off.
Neither the countries involved in the early S American wars or Rep Spain during Catalonia war reinforce their land units even though Spain mobilized. Air units are very slowly reinforced as per slider methinks.

Is my installation faulty or is there a bug?

Hi,

my woes continue in the New Year. Started as Poland on clean ARMA 1.2, IC 1.02, chose 70% lvl. Reserve army stayed 30% anyway.

DoW-ed Czechoslovakia, got mobilization event, nothing reinforces. Allocated all needed prod. to reinforcement slider after a couple of days,
Reserve Army starts to slowly reinforce, nothing else does.

So what`s wrong?

Seasons Greetings,

Oldtimer

unit reinforcements

there are a few factors when a unit's strength is weakened and you need replacements:

1. supply- check supply mode on the map if it's green where your units are then your good if, it's not then your units are cut off & cannot resupply
this is critical there is nothing worse than losing units from lack of supplies.

2.time- it takes time to resupply units as in days click on unit, hover mouse over organization ect. this tells you how much they resupply daily.

3. planning-the saying goes "only fools rush in" this is not red alert if you have a supply problem in the target area then make adjustments
the wise general addresses this & reacts or retreats I always have ships available for evac if needed.
also you can adjust the convoy ships to carry more supplies instead of the default number (very important in large operations)

4. HQ div.- this unit dist.'s supplies in provinces that it's next to assign a logistics officer to it.
5. exports- if you capture a province that has a depot then cancel the expot or transport back to your country your units will use them
6. manual-no one wants to read I'd rather spend an hour reading to get a general idea of how to play rather than being defeated because of an oversight
this is the difference between generals & players who just make massive troops & just attack because of numbers.

I hope this helps you, good luck!

Hi cincpac,

thx for your comprehensive post. Unfortunately what I do not understand is the mobilization itself. I thought that a few days after the event units are brought up to 100% in one go. Or that it should be like I thought.
But nothing happens for me or AI countries. I can reinforce by sliders, but what`s the idea of the mobilization event if it`s not doing anything besides allowing to recruit skeleton units at reduced price during peacetime?

that mobile event is a trigger for something in the future like preparing for war ect. when you see the mobile tag it increases your industrial cap top right so you can produce more units you also have to un-ex the priority supply at the left bottom of all units you want supplied

I recommend you place new units in or near a province that has a stockpile in them also if you win a battle & conquer new land by default all resources will go to your main country go to trade/convoy & cancel the convoy that's taking supplies from where you need them & increase the ships that is bringing in supplies.

some units resupply faster than others it's the headache of war so you still wanna be a general? lol

Hi cincpac,

I make myself look like an idiot(I`m one anyway or so it looks) but:

- I get mobilize picture after I decide to join the Finns in the Winter War as Sweden. I mobilize:

- my IC stays as before. I get extra mp though,

- my troops have strength ratio 70/70 so it`s impossible to reinforce by slider, 0 prod needed for reinforcement on prod screen. I suppose it should be 70/100 after mob. BTW most of my troops are located in provs with supply depot. What`s wrong, except mine being an idiot?

IC is an absolutely magnificent game and I`d like to have it fully functional without reverting to 1.01 rev. 7.
Oh, my Finnish allies do not reinforce after THEY mobilized either, while SU seems to as they have units with strength above 40/100 peacetime ratio.

Only big countries can increase strength ratio to 100

With other countries you can select the strength. But, if you have 4 tech slots and 300 manpower, you can select again your strength

Hi Quintelosky,

THX for your attn. So a small country choosing a percentage lower then 100 should build more but weaker units to use their mp better?

Your not that oldtimer, this game is set up so no 2 games are alike example: japan attacked pearl harbor in 1939 me playing the U.S. was unprepared they even sent naval fleets to california and attacked naval ports I endured long enough to push them back that game took 3 weeks to finish (16-20 hours a week) this was one time I wanted to destroy the whole japanese island but I thought of the women & children LOL so saying that this game is always unpredictable don't be surprised if you play the U.S. & germany ask to be an ally lol
