With the new Sunni/Shi'ite religious traits you can now even up with a Sunni Catholic or a Heretic Muslim.
Right now this event (singular) doesn't take heretic/sunni/shi'ite conditional traits of the ruler into affect.
EDIT: This may also apply to any other conversion events as well. Just noted the education one because it's the easiest to get fired.
