Well, it's an obvious question... as much as the Church dominated people's lives through the Middle Ages, there also were considerable amounts of heresies in the same period (the Albigensians in Prôvence/the Languedoc is but one), many of which are fairly well-documented.

If a royal dynasty controls lands that are "infested" with heretics, will this impinge upon its piety? Will the Pope yell at them? Will the heretics rebel?

I'm very curious about these issues. :)
 
Surely the Pope would yell at them if they didn't clean up the heresy. Not only yell but perhaps give a claim to anyone who could remove the heretics if the nominal overlord could not handle it.:)
