How are the Greek religion have a religious power of 1,368, Druidism has 290 and my Romans are a feeble 14.8? Is there a problem with religions? 658AVC, I control all of Gaul, Spain and Carthage. Is this function broken? Why haven't I gotten a religious conversion in the last 100 years of the game?

I control over 90 provinces mind you. 24 are Roman religion vs. 108 are Greek.

Well the reason is you haven't got a religious conversion. Since everyone else is complaining they happen far to fast, I am not sure what to say here.

I can understand that logic, but I have a bad feeling that the Greek religion having a 1368 power may have something to do with the lack of conversions for the last century. What is the religious power and why do I have 14 and the Greeks have 1,368 religious power?

Lots of reasons, temples is one, trading for spices (I think it is called) is another, number of provinces is another. I don't know them all to be honest.

So, the temples I was building, were Greek temples, not Roman temples? Maybe this needs to be grayed out for non-national religions so that no one is building up the religion of their enemies. Because currently, all my provinces have temples and I would never have built them if I knew that.

Oh crap. So that's why my Greek provinces didn't flip while my Carthaginian ones did that so fast. I tried looking for this event that changes religion and culture to get myself a clear list of things I need to fulfil to spread the word but couldn't find them anywhere. Do you know where it might be?

And one more thing. We can't demolish buildings, even using cheats, can we? :-(

Thanks

But what about culture flip? Can't find it in cultures.txt....

EDIT: It says such a province has to BORDER a province of your state religion to make a flip. So how do I spread it overseas?

And how do I make the islands flip? I've been waiting for Corsica, Sardinia and Malta to flip for a long time and no flip.

This all would have been useful if there was some sort of an explanation box on this stuff, when you are about to build it.

The cultural one is in the colony.txt file. Originally colonies weren't supposed to change culture on creation and then you would absorb them later. This was changed after text freeze so the event text is still written with that in mind.

Okay. Please add a specific event for conquered provinces that requires a good charisma and finesse, trade with lands of your culture, maybe even cores on those provinces and flips religion and culture after some time.

Now it's impossible to make Romans or Carthaginians or Gauls become proper Roman citizens... I played as Rome till 730 (or close to that) and all the time everything except my Italian provinces remained of original culture. I only managed to convert Cisalpine Gau and Sicily.

Once I changed the Religious Conversion rules for each province, to be reasonable. My religions started changing on a regular basis and my province cultures have been much slower to change, but they have changed, almost 20+ of them in 100+ years.

I think it should be a quick event. Especially in later stages of the game. Whole Gaul became Roman very very fast after Caesar conquered it. Here it never happens.

culture flip event is event 4002
regarding islands i could be wrong but there might be a trigger requiring an adjacant province with your culture wich an island wouldnt have
