I know I've asked this before, but I don't want to resurrect an ancient thread whcih is less likely to get the attention requir,ed. The thing turning me off from this game is that, 1. I need to acquire iron and other resources to make decent troops.=, which can make it very hard for small factions such as Judea which is too small anyway. and 2. it is a HUGE hassle to get proper trade routs. Is there any mod which removes or significantly alleviates this problem?

A. I do not agree, resources are strategic in nature. Hell I wish you could impose a deportation of smiths on nation's so even if they still have Iron they couldn't use it for a long period of time.

B. I do agree when it comes to small nations surrounding by empires. I been trying to mod it myself to find a way to give temporary access to Heavy infantry to small nations.

C. Maybe to have those nations that are small start with a few units of heavy infantry would do the job. But to remove the resource all together no. Sort of defies the point of cutting off their supplies.

I'll let you know if I find something. But I think there is a higher chance of simply having those smaller nations start with 4-6 heavy infantry units while they won't be able to recruit new ones they can replenish their numbers. For now I'm failing at finding how to have nation's start up with certain units.

You'd have to do it by using events that fire after startup. Have a look at events/flavour.txt (IIRC) for examples of what Paradox has already used.
