In the newest updates to EU4, a multiplayer menu restriction was added. I'm sure you've all gotten to that point. You enter the singleplayer menu and exit and then multiplayer's grayed out, or you enter multiplayer and then exit and then try again but it's grayed out, with it saying something along the lines of "You cannot play multiplayer after entering singleplayer or something lalala".

This is a very redundant feature now that the game's checksum automatically resets itself when you exit a game back to the menu. If that was broken and was the reason for this feature, why not fix that bug/issue rather than add a very annoying and lazy alternative?

Please and thank you!

It not only was but still is broken. Returning back to the main menu does not actually reset the checksum, which is an issue under consideration but not deemed important enough to spend much time on. That's why we have this workaround institutionalised.

It's there for a reason. Joining games after gamestate is altered causes OOS.
