Hey all, I think I've discovered a reproducible crash that results from trying to "creatively" bend the rules:

Right after natives in a province either destroy a settlement or an army, the native icon in the province becomes large and then fades back to it's normal small size. I noticed that while the natives icon is large and you access the Settlers map and click on the province, the window shows a natives total (incorrectly) of zero for the province. Well, after discovering this I decided to take advantage of this and send a settler to the province at this exact moment since the percentage change of success was much higher since no natives were present.

Unfortunately whenever this settler arrives at it's destination, the game crashes to the desktop regardless of colonization success or failure. Your options:

1. Don't take advantage of this loophole in the natives display (duh).
2. If you're like me and you try this "creative" strategy, you must hack your save game file to remove either the natives or your colonization attempt.

Anyone else encounter this? I'm playing 1.09 on Windows2000.
