One thing i find frustrating is positioning the camera in a manner to allow me to target enemies on higher elevation than my own lance. It requires me having to move my mouse to the edge of the screen to have the camera follow 'up the hill' a bit before using the mouse wheel to scroll out far enough to see the battlefield with my enemies in view.

Anyone recall how the game HOMEWORLD used to allow ships to move on the x / y / z access in the nav map, hold Shift + move mouse up or down to have change the elevation of your destination marker?

I propose using a similar mechanic to toggle having the camera move up or down in its current position via a toggle button (eg. Shift) so that when it is pressed, rolling the mouse forward move the camera up, and rolling the mouse backwards the camera heads back to the ground. All other camera controls can remain the same (scroll to zoom, etc)
