very, very nice story.

you seem to be catching the mood of the game quite well (from what I can find on the web - damn console-only games! :) ) .. Or in any case, you set a "nice" mood here :)

My only nitpick is the Chinese soldier's use of American slang "Jap" in his speech. I know said they substituted Chinese military terms for American ones, but would that include derogatory slang?

Regardless, excellent update. Those wolves sure are freaky.

Well, I wouldn't know what derogatory slang Chinese use for Japanese, but I'm fairly sure they would (especially in that day and age) and that I wouldn't have a clue :)

Considering how the Chimera manage to turn people into mindless body-collectors and worse.. Feral animals seem to fit quite well (even if no mention is made about feral animals in online resources of the game this is based on)

wonderful new update :)

curse non-ported console games...
Fortunately, we have TreizeV to share with us (and expand on) this very sinister, yet somehow believable history. :)

Except that the birds didn't attack, Hitchcock style. :p

keep killing those aliens!

Yayz for german army!
The polish couldn't do it, so the germans will. :p

You DO realise TreizeV is actually playing the aliens, no?

Wonderful update :)

Though I wonder how the Chimera "adaptation" (of strategy) works.... Considering they (apparently) have artillery and expendable infantry.. where are the "creeping artillery" and "artillery on my position" ? :)

Seeing how you're playing the Chimera - let's assume you indeed still are playing and not just writing a very good story. :)
..Did they actually nuke Berlin, and how much did it cost you?

Actually, the Isolationists have a point. Wouldn't it be overall better if America spent it's GNP on increasing defences of the Homeland instead of sending a possible ill-fated expedition (depending if it's ill fated but anyway)?
Considering they're complaining about the budget increase in the first place... I think they're more thinking about having the ocean be the defense...
Plus, better to bungle an expedition than bungle your homeland defense. (and as much as the Dieppe raid was a tactical failure, I still think it was a strategic success)

Still, depending on if the Chimera capitalise on any remaining European industry, they could get too strong. So it could work both ways I guess.
Anyone with half a brain should be able to do the math that a united Eurasian/African country will be able to outproduce the US (in theory; that is, if you're not subscribing to any theories of inherent superiority/inferiority).

Complaining over the budget increase due to "getting involved in a foreign war." I'm sure if the government announced the budget increase was to solely defend American shores from the Chimera, the Isolationists would be more accepting. Afterall, they'd want to only defend America from attack, not go on a rampage in Europe.

Plus the Isolationists most probably have on hand a fear of "well if we attack over there, it might aggrivate them or what about when we're fighting over their if they launch an attack here?". Dosen't mean at all the Isolationists aren't willing to fight. It's where they fight that's important.
IF the isolationists DO want to increase the budget AND have a solid plan how to use that increased budget that involves more than "ignore and hope they go away" THEN I'll admit they may have a point.
However, if these isolationists are anything like what their name (plus RL) history implies, then I don't think they do :)

And Africa's are pretty much undeveloped.
guess what happens to undeveloped resources if the owner has time? :)

So using these points at hand I base my arguments off. Hopefully once we get to learn a little bit more about the Chimera and how they produce and maintain their forces, should we be able to get a better look at the picture also.
Considering how they overran Russia and Europe, I wouldn't count on them NOT making use of having >50% of the world's land mass to outcompete/produce/... the US.
they took 40(?) years to get ready to overrun Europe (assuming the Tunguska event as the start), what reason is there to think they'd not be able to take on the US now, or in 40 years. And what reason is there to think they wouldn't try?

No immunity cases? No Hale fooling around, then...

I suppose that, after those incidents, the commatose bodies are left in the places they're found, but with a bullet in the brain...
ofcourse, in the case of a spire attack, there'd be noone around to do the bulleting :(

Damn you TreizeV, you'r making me want to buy the game AND console (for which I have neither time nor money) :p
