I installed Resolution Extension. At the main menu, I went into the options to change my window size. As I was changing the horizontal scroll, I hit Apply by mistake. The game window immediately resized itself into nothing more than the top of a window bar. According to the player.log file, the window resolution became 7920x1. A few seconds later, the game crashed.

I have not been able to change the resolution either through the launcher or the ResolutionExtensions.XML file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and removed the user files multiple times to no avail. I have unsubscribed and removed all mods to no vail. Any time I try to play the game, the game window just appears as one long window bar and then crashes.

Regarding Resolution Extension. In the near future a reset option will come by to ensure users can go back to a desired resolution if the resolution selected is invalid.
Try the following:

  1. Verify Integrity of Game Files:
    • In the same "Properties" window, navigate to the "Local Files" tab.
    • Click on the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" button.
    • Steam will check for any missing or corrupted game files and replace them if necessary.
    • Once the process is complete, launch the game and check if the resolution issue is resolved.
  2. Change Resolution via Launch Options:
    • If you know the resolution you want to set, you can specify it in the launch options.
    • In the "Set Launch Options" window mentioned earlier, enter the desired resolution using the "-w" (width) and "-h" (height) parameters. For example:
      -w 1920 -h 1080
    • Replace "1920" and "1080" with your preferred width and height.
    • Click "OK" to save the launch options and launch the game to see if the resolution is set correctly.
  3. Fullscreen Mode:
    • Try forcing the game to run in fullscreen mode to see if it resolves the issue.
    • In the launch options, add "-fullscreen" to force the game into fullscreen mode.

Let me know how it goes and sorry for such inconvenience!

HUGE thanks for providing a solution. I apologize if the solution I provied was not helpful.

It is still questionable why the game doesn't delete or refresh those keys on game uninstall/install.

Sorry for the inconvenience once again and glad you got it working.
