Hi,

I just bought Victoria Complete and installed Victoria. I started it up and the text and graphics are hard to recognize on my 24 inch widescreen monitor. I don't know if I can play it how it is. I wasn't expecting good graphics, but I don't know if I can play it like this. Is there any way to improve the way it looks so I can try and play?

I tried changing my monitor's resolution and that didn't help at all.

Thanks,
Rob

I tried CK:DV for a while with a 28-inch Full HD tv, didn't go for maxed-out resolution though, as that made the text quite small, and the tv is slightly more blurry than my monitor, so it would've been unreadable at max. resolution.

I'd recommend using a lower (much lower, if necessary) resolution to be able to read stuff despite the blurriness (or is it some other reason instead why you're not able to recognize text and graphics). Or it could be a monitor issue.

Edit: just remembered that Vicky doesn't allow you to change to whatever resolution you want... which makes the problem a bit trickier. It could be the graphics go bad when your monitor attempts to stretch them to something close to 200% zoom. Set your windows desktop resolution to the game resolution, see if that helps?

Do you play full screen or in a window (with the 3rd party hack)? If I play full screen it doesn't seem to matter what I have the monitor resolution set at because Vicky sets its own full screen resolution. I haven't tried the window mode hack and change my resoltion yet. Maybe that would help.

Some text is ok and some text is blurry and small. The graphics (like POP graphics) are a little hard to tell what they are because they are small and not well defined. All my other games look good (but none are limited to Vicky's resolution).

My monitor is not set to stretch the image, it just letterboxes it so I don't use the full area. But since it isn't at its native resolution I'm sure it doesn't look its best.

Thanks

I play on a 45" widescreen TV so it is possible to get it setup to look okay on really big screens.

Let me know if you want me to tell you some settings or something. I did have to fiddle around a bit to get games to look right, and for some games (e.g., "Hired Guns") I have to go back and change the settings.

Yes, that is right :D MINE is 45"

Any tips you can give would be appreciated.

I am currenly playing at 1280 x 1024. Definitely looks better than 1024 by 768 on my monitor. My monitor is 24'' at 1920 by 1080. I have an ATI Radeon 4850.
Again, thanks for any tips.

PS: Nice on the 45'' display! I've never hooked mine up to my tv, but since this card as an HDMI output it might be worthwhile. They just normally aren't in the same room.
