Hi there it seems i went to the wrong forum at first but the problem im having with both HOI and EU2 is this.Since i upgraded my graphics card to Nvidia GeForce4 MX 420 and had to reset my whole computer i get this message everytime i tried to change my games resolution it says the file OLEAUT32.DLL needs to be updated for this programme to run.I never had problems like this before and i never need to upgrade my windows.I have looked at Microsofts site but i cant see anything about upgrading this file so can someone advise me what i should do and direct me to the right section of Microsoft if i do have to upgrade.
My system is Wins 98SE with Directx9 and 466 celeron i hope this information helps if nothing can be done then i will have to reset my computer again thanks.
 
What is the driver version for your graphics card?
 
Hi well im not sure all ive got is the drivers are Nvidia Wins 95/98/ME thats all i can tell sorry.Someone told me to d/load a new OLEAUT32.DLL i done that but i was unable to unzip it it said
not while OLEAUT32.DLL is in process does this mean i will have to reset my computer again i hope not thanks for any help.
 
Have you tried to install it after a fresh reboot.

Ie turn the computer off, then back on, then shut down any background programs, like virus checkers or chat programs, as well as anything that is the system tray (the icons that appear by the clock in the bottom right corner) There should be no icons there.
 
Hi there i thought it be polite to let you know ive sorted my problem. I had to resort to the ultimate method of repair no i didnt throw my computer out of the window which i felt like doing.No i had to reset my whole computer settings again then i loaded HOI and EU2 then i was able to change the resolution settings with no problems.Then i installed my new graphics card then the drivers i also d/loaded the up to date drivers for my graphics card.And i decided to leave my old drivers installed in case that upset my windows as they are all on the recovery disk.i thought about d/loading the updates for windows but most of it seems for the internet ive only installed the Directx9.0 thing.i have no trouble now with the error message OLEAUT32.DLL coming up.So now i can get back to enjoying my games sorry to worry you all thanks for what help you gave me at least i know where to come back if i have another problem thanks a lot .
