(The details of my machine are at the bottom)

You know how the tutorials sometimes put up prompt windows that ask you to do something and then click on the "OK" button to move on?
But sometimes there is no OK button, and the tutorial detects when you have performed the appropriate action itself and puts up the next window when you have?
Well, when I play the "Resources" scenario I can set up the convoy perfectly successfully, but am then prompted - by a window with no "OK" button - to click on "Trade with the rest of the world". Which I do, and which puts up what seems to be the appropriate screen. But the tutorial doesn't seem to notice, and doesn't move on to tell me what actually to do to set up trade agreements. (This is a bit of a show-stopper in terms of actually playing the game at all, because trade doesn't seems to be mentioned in the paper manual. The same thing happens some way through the next tutorial scenario too, so I can't finish that one either).

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received.

I am trying to play the 1.06 patch, and my machine is:

Sony Vaio PCG-F807K ENG RC1.20
Pentium II 650/500 MHz
196,080 KB RAM
8MB video RAM (ATI RAGE MOBILITY-M1 AGP)
Windows 2000 5.00.2195 - Service Pack 4
Directx 9.0b. Checks out perfectly OK with DxDiag
Free space 3.4 GB

Thanks

I don't know why you would be experiancing this in the tutorials.

I suggest the trying the following.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

As for the manual, I would take a look at the following:

Thanks for the suggestions - unfortunately no luck. But I now do have the Manual Project manual, so should be able to fill in the gaps in the tutorials!

Cheers.

Other good resourced in addition to the Manual Project:
1. FAQ forum. Lots of useful documents there.
2. Cumulative patch readme (top sticky thread in the support forum).
3. browsing the first 5-10 pages of the general forum (too many new users don't do this)
That should give you enough background to ask good questions about anything you still don't understand.

One of the links I gave him above was for the FAQ forum. :)

I've had the same problem. What I did was delete the gamefolder entirely  and reinstall the game without any patches. In version 1.0 the tutorial works fine. After I'd practised enough with the tutorial, I updated the game once again to V1.06b and started a scenario for the real action.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip regarding the versions, I guess changes in later versions cause trouble with the Tutorial.
