Retreating armies sieging provinces

I have seen this a lot, and it's rather annoying: if an army was sieging a province and then gets attacked and retreats, they end up still sieging the province while they retreat! They also siege it with the numbers including their enemies. I've seen a retreating army win a siege in a province 2 times before actually leaving.

yes. it takes about 2 weeks for an army to cross from plains to plains. so its mosy noticeable when a retreating army has to retreat into mountains.

on the positive side, if the retreating army leaves before the siege is over, you still got to benefit from the weeks they spent helping you reduce the walls. overall, I think its a wash.
