What's wrong with FPR? They were pretty close to being an independent state.

What's wrong with FPR? They were pretty close to being an independent state.

Were they close to being an independent state recognised by France, England, and Spain? If so, how would you tweak the following definition:

FPR = {
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1559 }
expirydate = { day = 31 month = december year = 1589 }
minimum = { Lyonnais Maine Poitou Limousin Cevennes Languedoc Guyenne Bearn }
extra = { }
capital = Poitou
group = latin
culture = french
religion = reformed
}

For one thing, Maine is detached from the rest of the mass.

BTW, the player can liberate all of these provinces and set them free as the non-revolting Orleanais, Guyenne, Bourbonnais, Auvereugne, and Provence.

Well the French certainly recognized their authority in certain matters (judicial legislative and such). That's not enough to be an independent state, but it's not so far off.

I though the French minors weren't available through the 16th century. Maine is whacky I agree.

I really like FPR for flavour although they definitely do show up more than they should.
