As the console version most likely will require updates to be made to the tutorial it might be a good time to think about how the full version of the tutorial could be made to service new players even better than the current one.

I personally would try to approach the full tutorial from a completely new player`s perspective to Paradox games with the goal of going through in detail what this and that knob and bolt in the UI is and how they can be used. As in the current PC tutorial I found that the tutorial was quite good in telling me the rather obvious, like "This is the ship design screen. You can design ships here." But it wasn`t very good at letting me know how to use the different functions of that screen. Also if the player accidentally skips some parts of the tutorial it would be good if he/she could later easily revisit the parts of the tutorial he/she wants to. And of course the players should have the option to change the tutorial settings and even take it completely offline if they want to.

Some might argue that smart and really interested players can learn all of these things by themselves from tooltips etc, but I see no reason why Paradox should limit their potential players to only those people willing the make the effort. As most likely a lot of potential players don`t have the time or the energy to spend their free time learning most things by themselves.

And just to be clear the narrated helper tutorial is what I am mainly talking about here, as it is in my opinion the easiest way for completely new players to get to know Stellaris and its gameplay mechanics instead of reading a whole minibook worth of text pages through on their own.
