Many mods on this forum have been conceived with a simple ponder of What if a turning point in History had gone a different route like what if Germany won WW2 or what if The Confederacy won the Civil War. Common examples of threads that attempt to answer this question are Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkreig or the Fatherland mod.

Now, out of many points of divergence the one that has perhaps shaped the modern world the most is the October Revolution, which created the world's first Communist state, the Soviet Union. Now, I won't be asking what if the Russian Revolution failed as that has been done already:see Kaiserreich for more details on how they interpret the fallout of the failure of the ideology of Marxism-Leninism.

Instead the simple question of what if Marxism took hold earlier is perhaps one of the more obscure points of divergence mentioned.

Anyways, the idea was interested me and based off of the premise that the failed Paris Commune had actually managed to defend its Marxist state and founded the worlds first Socialist Republic during the tumultuous times of the Franco-Prussian War.

This is the Premise of Rise and Fall as inspired by @Tera Brandford with his earlier work using the point of divergence and the title.

Whoa! I had high hopes for the original iteration of the mod, so of course it's neat to see it live again.

One thing tho, aren't the Commune of France and the British Empire a bit too close colour-wise?

Yea, it will be an uphill battle because all the minister.csv files got corrupted because I changed the misc file.

Minor quibble and question, the timeline has Dreyfus becoming Chief of Staff for the Communard Army, yet when the Dreyfus affair happens he is suddenly back to a 'French Republic', and then flees to the Commune. In spite of, you know, having his original job be with the Commune. (Aside from my skepticism that the Dreyfus Affair would even occur if France was Communist, but eh)

you caught an error I made as Dreyfus is supposed to be the Chief of Staff of the French Republic, then he flees to the Commune soon after. yea, I need to first fix an error that gets rid of all of the ministers when I change the setting to allow ministers to have retire years.

I used the color of the Soviet Union for the Democratic Republic of France, (note: not the Commune of France) I could change the British color to make it different but then the colors would look similar to other country colors.

This looks interesting. What's the scope of the mod? Is it alternate ww1 or something larger?
If I actually knew how to make events I would answer that, but because I don't know how to make events I can't answer that question.

The chief of the air can be zeppelin, but it isnt historicaly exact because there wasnt a chief of the air in those years.
In the original interpretation of the mod, 1900 was all steampunk and Marxism was far larger than just France.

If you need help just ask.
considering I have around 80 countries to do ministers and finish the techs for before I do events, I would definitely need help as I don't want this to turn out like my last project.

is there any available Chiefs of Navy for the Democratic People's Republic of France?

So little change for south america, it could diverge on more things...
tbh, I don't know that much about South American History, and I don't want to make it like the previous version guessing what happens there.
