Will go through all of the prescreens but crashes after "trees" any help? My computer has more than enough hardware and has Vista DirectX is loaded..Please help or else the disk is being returned in pieces. Sorry just a little frustrated.

Actually I'm having the same crash to desktop after trees on the demo on a Vista machine as well. Since it's only the demo I can't register it.
delete settings.txt in your rome folder and start the game again, it should work now.
I've moved this to the tech support forum, so hopefully you can get a little more help.

Yes just loaded them now it crashes at a different point..I have not even seen the opening menu yet.

Same problem I had with demo. I took a chance and bought the full game hoping it worked. It did for the most part. I can't change years/senarios more than two to three times before the game crashes. I hear it is a common issue with Vista. I will say that the game runs good other than the map select feature.
