Routers, Firewalls, and Misery

Alright, so I'm trying to play TCP/IP cause Valknet is down, and I can join games but not host them. I opened up all the ports it says to for EU2, I even created a DMZ on my computer, and my router says the firewall has a gaping hole in it for HoI to charge through... and yet noone can connect to me. On top of this, when I -do- connect to other people, I get terrible lag and wind up months behind them (which should NOT happen as I'm on a reasonably fast cable connection in NYC). If anyone has any suggestsions I'd appreciate it.

This certainly deserves an official FAQ. How do those of us that have hardware firewalls open up so that we can play with others? What ports should we forward?

Damn I have the same problem. I can't connect and I opened a DMZ.

I'm behind a Linksys Router. My machine is in the DMZ and Norton Internet security is set to allow anything in/out for HOI.exe. I even tried adding my buddy's IP as a trusted host and I can't host or join any games.

Please someone help. The AI is like playing against Forrest Gump. I NEED human opponents!
