This is a picture of the new missile system and i dont recognise the ship so i'm assuming its a type 26.

Full CGI video and article below.

Indeed, I edited my post in the here about it.

http://www.defencemanagement.com/news_story.asp?id=18683; more info here

I can't decide if it is a new seperate system to CAMM(M) but I'm doing some research and will let you all know ASAP.

Edit;
That ship looks too small for the Type 26. It might be that it is the planned MHCP or C3.

Edit 2:
It does appear to indeed be the naval varient of CAMM based on the info on the side of the missile in that video.

From what I've been able to gather it's called Sea Ceptor. AFAIK it's not directly related to CAMM, but being a MBDA product it's likely that it'll leverage as much technology it can from CAMM.

It has a 12.6m point to point range (if you assume a circular coverage of the 500 square miles that the missile is said to cover and negate height of interception working only in a 2d plane. ) that fits in nicely with the speculated range of 12-16 miles for CAAM. It is soft launch which is also what CAAM is like. Also in the video the missile did have CAAM on the side of the missile which kinda implies that the missile is the naval component of CAAM. Just like Aster/Sampson was renamed to the more catchy and shortened Sea Viper it seems likely that CAAM would be renamed and Sea Cepter would fit the bill with current social trends for "cool" names.

What actually is a "Ceptor"?

It's a stupid gimik to link up interceptor with Sea. However to keep the word "short and snappy", to make sure it doesn't bore my generation who are incapable of using the full vocabulary the English language has to offer they have shortened it... Ie, Sea Ceptor. It's sooooo pathetic.

It's awful, agreed.
