Ruler starts civil war against self

Okay, yes this is the most bizarre bug I ran across, as Carnutes, my own Ruler betrayed me and started a civil war, and he was my best general, and had the most loyal troops, and had 100% loyalty to the nation obviously. Can someone explain why my own ruler, decided to start a civil war against himself?

Been reported by someone else, just a day or two ago. Same question I gave him, is your king Schizophrenic?

Did you get a new ruler or is he now leading both rebels and your nation?

I got the same problem in my Macedonia game. The king joined the rebels faction, and his brother became king. I'll check tonight from the save game if he was schizophrenic or not.

I checked my former ruler : he was not schizophrenic, but he did have a loyalty reducing trait, so he might have had a very low loyalty at the beginning of the civil war. Does the king get the +.5 loyalty from being the same family as the ruler ?

Thanks King, I didn't enjoy my Ruler trying to kill his own country anyway, that's happened twice to me now, but thanks for fixing!
