Repeatedly CO are saying that this game will be very open to modding. I sense they don't just mean assets but adjustments of game play. Does this mean that rulesets could be created (such as we see in Civilization etc) and if so will such rulesets be sharable.

I wonder if elements such as life expectancy, criteria for the different education levels etc will be adjsutable?

Sorry, I've got to giggle.
The game's not even out yet, you haven't even played it, and already some of you guys feel you just have to change something, anything.

Its the nature of human beings - to fiddle. When you were young did you not want to open up the radio or something to explore its inner workings? When I install a new software package I always have a sniff around the installed directories, looking at ini files etc. Come on, seriously you don't want to tinkle from day 1? Where's your sense of adventure?

:)
My "sense of adventure" is exploring and discovering the game itself. I want to tinkle with and learn the game, not change it or dig into the "ini" files. Like a car- I just need to know how to drive it, I don't need to know how it works.

I'm sensing "tinkle" means something different to a British speaker of English then it does to an American....I almost started laughing as it is a term we might use with a child instead of the more technical urinate or a variety of other slang.

I would probably use the term "tinker" for what you both are saying.

I think he meant tinker, although I can't remember day 1 of my life... I probably did tinkle and have done so quite often since

tinkle was used in two posts in a row...I see you are in the UK...maybe one typo was followed by a copy paste issue...anyhow..I think you brits might be a nation of tinkler's :)

and a very often option. like every half hour.

especially if your drinking beer.
