Hi guys,

I have some problems getting I:R running on a Manjaro Linux system with hybrid intel/nvidia gpu setup. I am using prime-run to switch on dedicated GPU for most of my games, which works fine with e.g. Dota 2. Also, the game runs fine if I do not use the prime-run command (unplayable though).

However, as soon as I use prime-run as starting option for I:R not even the launcher would start. When I hit "run", the "imperator: Rome is being started" steam window appears for about a second, the "run" button turns blue. After the second, it becomes green again, the starting window fades and nothing happens.

I am pretty new to manjaro and linux in general, so may be you can tell me if you need any more information to help so I can provide it.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: everything runs fine if I use this command in the terminal:
prime-run /home/linus/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ImperatorRome/binaries/imperator
so it seems like the launcher is the problem and cannot handle a prime-run call. Any suggestions?

Not really, as a/ no distro except Ubuntu is supported and b/ I doubt the game is tested on a Prime setup.

You might try reading, and if no help osting in, this thread:

Lots of Linux experts there. Good luck!

Ok, thanks for your help. Actually I am pretty ok how it works right now. I wrote a bash script to run the game executable with prime directly. This way it is not too much hassle to start it. And works like on windows.
