I have no choice but to play in Vulkan. DX11 has a chance of completely freezing your PC and you have to manually power it off.

When will this be fixed?

That's not what bricking means, dude. Bricking means your PC/console stops working completely. Stop catastrophizing. A computer freezing when you use DX11 is a bad enough bug without needing to make it sound worse.

Just out of curiosity, if you hop into Windows Update -> Update History -> Do you have the Windows 11, version 24H2 mayhaps?

If so, this link from Microsoft themselves, helped me quite a lot after a lot of performance drops in all types of CPU-demanding games after the latest windows update.

Yes, Windows 11 24H2

Thanks for the link. Does it also help with the freezing in DX11 or just the performance drops?

So I can't say for sure why you specifically are getting issues in DX11 but not in Vulkan. In my case the freezing occurs when the game reaches too much CPU-performance for whatever reason and becomes unresponsive. This should at least help with that, because Microsoft's latest update does a lot to faff around with cpu performance to have their security stuff happen in a completely separate environment from all other code.

I guess this makes a ton of sense if you're a desktop worker at a big company that run risk of hackers trying to send you code injections - but for someone who just wants to play games - it seems like a high price to pay for very rare attacks. Kind of like hiring a dude with a baseball bat named Pawel for 15% of your monthly budget to stand inside your apartment and making sure nobody gets in while you're at work. I'm sure Pawel makes it more safe - but it's a high price to pay to just have another layer of security for something that rarely happens, when a lock on the door would probably suffice.
