I was playing in multiplayer, when the game crashed due to the firewall... then, every time i try to start the game an error appears.

"Runtime error!

Program: C:\Programmi...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"

This is the error.. anybody knows something about this?

Sorry for the up.. but after some months i re-try to play EU Rome and the error still appears.. i bought Vae Victis, installed it and patch 2.1 but nothing.

Some help?

Yes, i tried with the redistributable runtime but it didn''t help me.

If something else could be useful, tell me and i'll post it here.

Edit settings.txt and set refreshRate=60, and also delete the contents of the /rome/maps/cache directory. If none of those help, try a complete reinstall:

First move any valued save games elsewhere. Then uninstall both games, and then manually delete the game directory - this is important. Reinstall Rome - if you use Vista, it's best to choose a new directory like c:\games\rome instead of the suggested path. Then use the Gamers Gate installer to install VV over Rome (that is, into the same directory to overwrite it), then install the 2.1 patch, again making sure you point it to the Rome installation directory used above, so that it overwrites the VV files.

After a reinstall in other directory the game starts. I think it was a firewall problem because the error disappears when i try to change the firewall policy.

Now i can play Eu Rome, thanks Andrew.
