Russia First!!

It is Feb. 1940. I am playing CORE 7.1. I have defeated Poland as Germany and have not been attacked by France, Brit. etc. I am tempted to do as Hitler wanted to to, i.e. go after Russia with no Western Front stabbing him in the back. I have never had this happen before. Anyone had any experience with this scenario? Please advise. I plan to attack no other countries while I build up for Barbarossa. A3

I think you can get away with it, provided your AI aggresiveness is not set too high. The AI France/ UK quite often are content (as they were historically) to declare war in support of Poland, but not really do much other than harass you with a few air raids. The French Army is pathetic, and its really hard to imagine them going on an offensive against you in 1940. Garrison the provinces opposite to the Maginot line heavily, and stay on good terms with the Netherlands, and you should be fine. You are likely in for a protracted struggle with the USSR though. In 1940 its doubtful you've got many tanks, and even if you do, they are at best the IVD's. With a mainly foot-based infantry army, you're going to have to be content to move at a much slower pace in the Russian provinces. It could be fun though, so why not try?

I believe France can attack you any minute. Check their War Entry value via diplomacy menu - if it's near 100%, they will declare war on you soon.

True that they are not able to go for the offensive fast, but fighting 2 front war is always annoing.
