Save crash fixed ?

Hi all.
Has the crashing save issue been fixed?
Or I can leave this game to be forgotten.
I bought it when it came out, it was unplayable, and Sony wouldn't refund it.
So I'd like to know if I'll actually be able to play it one day, or if it's not even worth thinking about.

I play it on Xbox but I haven't experienced any save crashes in quite some time, though the game does get kind of slow and choppy if your territory gets very big (like all of Asia and a good chunk of Europe big)
