Did a little lazy search and no threads have this topic (hopefully).

So I had this amazing idea that since Europa Universalis is the "successor" to Crusader Kings 2 (in regards to the save file conversion), I wonder if they will do the same for future games?

I mean it's so obvious:
CK2 takes place 11th century - 15th century
EU4 takes place 15th century - 18th century
Victoria takes place 18th - 20th century
HOI takes place during world war II, although there probably won't be a WWII if your save file is completely ahistorical.

Just imagine drastically changing history. Restore Rome in CK2, then colonize new world with Roman colonies in EU4. Then in Victoria the colonies go in revolution, and America would be the son of Rome instead of Britain (wouldn't that be awesome?), and world domination with Roman nukes and planes in HOI!

If Paradox does this it would certainly be a huge hit in the video game industry! Not even Total War would let you do anything close.

So you guys agree??

Yeah this is called a Paradox Mega Campaign, and you can do it right now. With the Old Gods expansion you can go from 867-1945(hopefully if East vs West comes out, the fans will extend this to 1991 :)). There are already converters available for all of this.
The only converter that is not out yet is the EU4->Vicky2, which is in the works. But you can still do a CK2->EU3->Vicky2->HoI3 campaign with the fan converters available. Many people have done this, some document it in AARs. There are also a handful of Mega Campaigns on Youtube. I started a series too when The Old Gods came out.
So there you have it. It's not a new thing. It's a pretty old thing.

Well, thank you, I didn't know that (only been playing Paradox games recently)

But for some reason I'd feel better if Paradox officially implemented this in their games. And even if I really wanted to I wouldn't feel very comfortable. For me, it's weird to play my game from the up-to-date CK2 to EU4 to an outdated and graphically inferior game such as VII or HOI3.

Basically this thread is a typical suggestion to Paradox and just like any other fan, I hope they see and consider this.

Official converters would be nice, that's true, but i don't know, how viable it is to make one. I mean it's a lot of work to make one, and probably not that many people would buy the converters. CK2 is hugely successful, and EU4 is as well, so it makes sense that they made that converter, but Vicky is a pretty niche game, and HoI too probably(probably not as much though). Also a big percentage of players don't even finish CK2 or EU4 campaigns to the full length, and they wouldn't spend money on a converter like that. So i don't know if it would be worth it for the company.
I would buy an official EU4-Vicky2 converter instantly, but that's just me.

Also i don't think Vicky2 looks bad at all(i would even say i like the aesthetic more than EU4's), neither does HoI3. It's an older engine but still looks plenty good, and besides, these games are not about being pretty, but their depth.
