I'm having this strangest problem with Rome Gold. I'm playing the Suebi and have reached year 694. I usually let autosave handle saving for me but at times I do save inbetween. But few days I ago I noticed something odd. After I loaded a save game after last auto save, two governors had suddenly just disappeared. I thought nothing of it at first and just reassigned the governors, saved a little later and left the game.
I reloaded the game later and the same regions had just lost their governors. I found the save game folder and to my surprised noticed that the save game files were, for lack of better term, deteriorating. My new save game files were smaller than the last autosave.
I tried reinstalling the game and made sure that I deleted all the files and folders but that didn't seem to have solved the problem. I tried running the game as an administrator but that didn't work either.
Then again, I've been considering if the save files have simply become corrupted, because I tried started a new game and saved that one, and in that case the files seemed to save normally. But I decided to just play it safe and post here in case someone else has run into this problem and knew how to solve it, if possible.
If it's not, the glorious empire of Suebi will just end on year 694
