Save games wont load

All of a sudden I can't open my save gaves, it stops upon reaching full bar with the text saying loading. I do run some mods but turning them off doesn't help and everything's been running fine for weeks with the same setup, so can't understand what's wrong. Latest game version, all DLCs.

Make a new save game with no mods involved. Can you load that up okay?

If so this is likely to be a mod issue, I am afraid. Turning mods off does not remove what effects they have already had on the save game file.
