I have version 1.05b. Had no problems whatsoever. I'm playing the game, I save my game and leave. I come back, and load a different game and it freezes. It gets up to "Reading Scenario" then it freezes. I tried all my saved games and it freezes. All my saved games are from 1.05b and I load them in 1.05b. This started happening out of nowhere. Anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.
 
Are all the saves from the same game. Can you start a new scenario?
 
Well you got me on this one, if I am understanding what you are saying, then I have no idea. Unless you have a bad Hard disk or something, that would be causing more trouble than just with HOI however.

You have no mods installed?
You have not edited the game in any way?

If the answer to both those questions in no, then the best course of actiopn for you is to wipe HOI from your system then reinstall 1.00, then 1.05, then 1.05B.
 
So if you start a fresh game, the save after a day. then exit HOI completely. Then start HOI again, are you saying that you cannot load the game you just saved. Please try that with the fresh install.
 
I got the same problem (loading game freezes at "reading scenario"), but in a totally different situation. I'm playing UK in June 1942. My savegame from June 28th refuses to load, however an autosave from June 1st works correctly. The only remarkable thing happend during that time was the finnishing of "upgrade industry" in a lot of my provinces. If something has caused trouble, I can't think of anything else but this. If you want, I can mail you the savegame files. Maybe you can discover anything (I certainly can't).

That's why I asked if they were from the same game. ;)

That game got corrupted some how possibley the reason you mentioned.
 
Guys, these sound more like bugs that are corupting your games rather than hardware problems. Please report them with as many details as possible, in the bug forum. Thanks!
 
I too ran into problems with having saved games hanging while loading the scenario.

Here is a work around:

I opened the saved game with wordpad, went to the message history section (near the bottom just above battles in progress sections) and deleted all of the messages except one, taking care to perserve the header and footer, saved the file, and the saved game now loads fine, played a couple of years and was still able to save and load. :->
 
Please post that in the bug forum as well, that kind of info is invaluable!!

Not only for people experiancing the problem but also for bug hunters.

No feel free to start a new thread there since many people have posted here and all may not have the same problem or still have it with 1.05C. This is an old thread as these things go. If anyone gives you grief about it come back and see me. ;)
