Saved in diplomacy screen

Help!
I think this was discussed some time ago, but I can't find it.

In an thoughtless moment I saved my game while in the diplomacy screen, and on reloading I only have the diplomacy map. No terrain, no units..... no fun.

Please help! Is there any way to save my saved game???

u could use the closest back save, or autosave?

I could not find it on a search, but I do remember it, only not what the solution was.

It may have been in the bug forum though.

Try clicking on the mapmode buttons next to the minimap. That seemed to do it when I reproduced this problem. [brunt35 reported it in the 'Major conflict (save games)' thread about 2 weeks ago].
