Savegame corrupt after Steam was offline

So a couple days ago there were some problems on the Steam server and I couldn't connect to it - just started it in the offline mode. The CK2 launcher has successfully connected me to my PDX account, so I figured there wouldn't be any issues. Upon loading my savegave I checked again and made sure that the achievements were ENABLED.

So I finished that session and when I booted it the Steam up again it has connected to the server successfully and synced my game. However, when I loaded this same savegame - the achievements were DISABLED now because of the "file was edited error".

With several bazzillion hours invested in the game, I would obviously be extremely frustrated to lose all the progress on this achievement run. Is there a way to fix this? The savegame is attached.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that Ironman save files are encrypted (to preserve integrity of achievements), and cannot be edited or rescued by anyone, not even us. There is simply no way to turn a non-achievement-worthy save game into an achievement-worthy one; if there were anyone could cheat their way to anything!

Your problem has been seen with this game and EU4 sporadically over the years - usually to do with a game or computer crash, or a Steam outage as you describe, presumably while the game is in some critical stage of collating or writing out the save file. But we've been unable to duplicate and so fix it, despite many attempts.

I apologise for this problem happening to you! I hope you at least enjoyed the gameplay up until it happened.
