savegames dont show

Hi,

none of my savegames dont show up in game. They are still in the savegames folder and they dont seem to be corrupted since i can view them in pdx tools just fine. Also when i make new save games they do not how up in the save games folder. I looked in cloud and local and incompatible saves but didnt find anything.

Where would the new save games be if not the steam cloud or C:\Users\<user>\OneDrive\Dokumente\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\save games ?

I tried launching as administrator, turnung off cloud in steam (saves are local, i never use the cloud), and reinstalling the pdx launcher and deleting the AppData of the Launcher. The Launcher is telling me that it fails to update, current version is 2022.9.

Maybe eu4 is using a different Documents folder. Have you tried "C:\Users\<user>\Dokumente\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\save games" without the OneDrive? If you can't find it, you could save a new game and give it a unique filename without spaces and then search for that name with the windows file search.
Also make sure that the checkbox "show incompatible saves" is active so that you can see saves which were saved with a different eu4 version, mods or DLCs.

Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say in there?

this is resolved. The game just started to use the regular path instead of the onedrive one. Im not really familiar with the way things are saved when using onedrive so it didnt occur to me that this culd happen.
