I am sure this might of been mentioned elsewhere but I couldn't find it.

In the screenshots the scale of some items are a bit ridiculous, especially ships and stations compared to planets.
I know you cant make it super realistic as then the ships would all be tiny but hopefully paradox will make adjustments to at least make it look not cartoony. This is something that would bug me when I play.

One solution for this common issue is the way its done in Sins of a Solar Empire. Have icons to denote ships and structures from a distance then when you zoom in you can see them properly at a scale that doesn't ruin the immersion? IMHO ships should feel tiny in comparison to the vastness of space if at all possible.

Fine as it is imo; they're just graphical representations of where your ship/station currently is.
And, in case of the station, it also shows which upgrades it has, so making it appropriately sized might negate that.

Besides, ships are likely to be no more than a few hundred meters in length, maybe 1-1½km for the largest of ships (my guess/estimate), so they'd be stupid small in relation to planets. Have fun using super-zoom to see them, if you want to see them.

Also, the unit markers in EU, CK and HoI are also vastly scaled-up (in Vikky propably as well).

Correct. Infantrymen larger than whole cities in those games don't bother me. That said, there is a balance... I would like to see the current station size scaled down a bit, especially if they can orbit moons.

This is how I'd do it.
