Thread for discussing the screenshot.

Personally, i think the layout is really, nice. Provnices are small and detailed and the law system seems complex and nice.

The only objection i have is where you select map modes. Dunno why, just that they seem to small, not as accessible...

I canna see it captain!

Mulli,

The map certainly has the right feel...

I'm very impressed.

These are not map mode selections, I think. But the buttons to access other information screen.

But I agree that they are too small.

D.

I'm quite impressed. The map looks great, lots of provinces, and the ability to choose what succession law your kingdom uses. Can't wait to try the game!

Is it supposed to be released about the same time as Victoria, and will Strategy First publish the NA version?

Dude, that's like totally cool. One thing - it's going to be pretty rum (fnarr fnarr) playing Byzantium when eastern Anatolia and the whole of Armenia seem to be OoB.

I think the "Law" info on the left side is very impressive. It means a lot of thought was put into getting the period as right as possible, and pretty detailed actually. And I like those little provinces, gives one more maneuvering room in the Holy Land. ;)
I like the law list too :)

It seems to me the list is devided in several categories with varying numbers of alternatives in it, e.g:

Rules of succession
- Salic law
- Semi-salic law
- Cognatic law

Inheritance laws
- Primogeniture
- Gavelkind
- Heirs' Ladder
- Borough-English

etc.

It does appear strange that both Salic and Cognatic law is selected (is that red "dot" a seal?), since they are mutually excluding...

Is semi Salic Law the one in which between the heirs of same place males are before woman, or that males are always over woman and until last male is dead no woman can inherit??

omg

Man, I start checking the forums again yesterday...and we get a screenshot! Lovely.

I think it refers to a system where while no woman can inherit, males from a female line (eg the son of a king's daughter) can inherit. That little dispute was behind the 100 year war...

This sounds correct to me, yes...

then Cognatic Inheritance is the one in which both can inherit with male preference at same 'rank', no??
