  • Naval War: Arctic Circle
I just took this screenshot from our latest (today's!) build.

NWAC 2012-03-02 13-13-59-46.jpg

The Royal Navy daring the Arctic winter night.

I see some new stuff. Is it navigation line on the mini global map ( carrier ). Does it show where it moves to?
I also like the little compass but how useful it is if we have mini global map on all the time?
The arctic looks beautiful! :)

Thanks! Yes, there is new stuff. The mini map (lower left) does not show navigation line, but the main map (whether in small or large version) does. This has not changed. We also have added a nice compass, which most of us here have been missing, even though you can deduce it from the map.

The compass is actually reversed EW in that picture; that's already fixed :)

Yeah, we really thinks it looks great now.

Great looking, guys! and thanks for sharing those with us.

Can it be more realistic if using NTDS symbols in the main map instead of small figures?

The panel on the right (with the small ships in green) is some kind of formation information?

Is there any kind of sensor information? Air Search radar - Surf Search radar, etc?

Regards.

Thanks, gmilitel

NTDS: Not currently.

Panel on the right: Shows current group (or unit if not in group) with a summary of all health, fuel, speed, elevation/depth, weapons and sensors.

More detailed sensor information (all sensors: IR, radar, sonar) is in the sensors panel, one of the buttons on the right. This also gives you full control of active/passive sensors and deploying dipping or towed sonar arrays.

:eek:o I completely missed the broken compass when i first looked at the picture.

Question: How come the Somerset's speed is displayed in KPH? I thought the nautical measure was knots? And if it stays as KPH, isn't the correct display usually km/h?

Beautiful! Russian airpresence over southern Norway?

Love the shadows in the water and the way they ripple. This is eagerly awaited!

Ahh this is glorious :3 Type 23s, snow, funky new UI bits. What more could be asked for :D

Nothing, because two T45's are there also (the icons on two of the ships resemble them). :p
