So, I downloaded Gold today and when I started the game up the screen appeared to be too wide by far, and once everything had loaded up my cursor was not correctly placed to activate any of the icons for the start menu. It was an inch or two to the left of where it actually interfaced with the buttons on the start menu.

I figured this was a resolution problem, so I fiddled with the cursor until I could get into the options menu and change the resolution to the lowest offered (1074X768) then restarted the game as requested. Same problem still exists. Any ideas?

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista to a non-system directory, like c:\users\[name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\. You may have to search your C: drive for them.
