I will post here, but I do think that I can't do very much anyway, just want to be sure:

So I patched 1.3a, however, when i click on the HoI2 icon on my desktop, this appears:

uuuyfiyuftt7f2iz.jpg

That behind is the HoI2 directory, with no hoi2.exe to be found. :(

Does this mean that I have to uninstall hoi2 and install the latest patch and the latest fix? Appearently something got very wrong when downloading and using 1.3a (the hotfix). :confused:

Too bad that I will lose my saves, again.

And something else, I have a readme in Spanish :confused: :

EDIT: I have made some copys (spl?) of the Hoi2 folder a long time ago. However, none of these are patched to 1.3, just 1.2. How do I do to patch one of those up to 1.3? Obviously I can play 1.2, but not 1.3.

Thank you.

Uninstall everything.

There is a manual uninstal instructions in the sticky thread.

Remove all the other folders with HOI2 stuff.

Reinstall from the CD, then just apply the 1.3A full patch.

Regarding your saves, you can put them in a new temp folder then put them in the new save game folder when it gets created with the install program. But you should really start a NEW game with the new patch, old games are not supported in anyway.

Keep me posted.

InstallShield creates a directory where it keeps all the information on installed software. On my machine it is 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information'

'InstallShield Installation Information' is marked as hidden so to be able to find it you have to change folder options on you PC to show hidden files (For instructions on this see the next post). Search for files containing 'Hearts' in this directory and you will find a file called 'setup.ini' with the following content:

[Startup]
AppName=HOI2
Engine=0
Copy=1
Source=0
[Languages]
Default=0x0009
count=1
key0=0x0009

On my PC this resides in: 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{A6F1BDF7-53A7-4AF6-84B9-0C51C722BC91}'. I'm not sure if the last directory name will be the same on all machines but I think so. Delete that directory and you will be able to make a clean install.

I can't find this. Is this supposed to be under 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information'?

I have marked show hidden files but this is what I see:

:confused:

And more:

I have deleted all the keys but I STILL see this:

nyfillll2222222222222222222222.jpg

1812

So then I have not deleated the keys, but look:

Paradox Interactive is GONE. Should I just delete the map, "Paradox interactive"? :(

And:

Delete everything?

Delete everything, if you have modded any files you may want to keep a copy of them in a temp folder you can create.

When I put the cd in it still says PLAY and not install...

Where is this? Can I search for it or something? :wacko:

I don't know if those are the right ones?

Go to 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation'
Then search for HOI2
That will bring up two file names which should be in the same folder, look at what folder they are in, that will be the one you want to delete.

Yes, but as you can see, I don't have any "InstallShield Installation" under Program files... I found this under C:\Program\InstallShield Installation. I think that is teh right one since it is the exact name as the one you said. :confused: I don't know if I can make a chance though...

And it says ntohing about HOI2... this is going bad. :(

EDIT: Nope, it is Europa Univeralis, I clicked on the setup :D

I will look more, but how do I search in there (see above, alst pic) for HOI2?

Having trouble translating from your pics.

but if you go to that folder, (it does not have to be in the Program files main folder)
Then you hit the "Sok" button beside the Magnifying glass.
In the Search programs field enter HOI2, it should then find the files I was talking about, you can then see from the path to those files the number of the folder you need to delete.

It can't find anything.

Try and install, what happens?

When I put the cd-rom in it says "play" and not "install". I can't click on install.

EDIT: I have one option, repair, but not when i put the cd-rom in, but when I click on the set up in the installshield folder.

I am doing an isntall now, with repair. I will see if it works. Update soon.
