SFX volume slider not working! What's up with that????

Hey guys, just picked up a US copy today, v 1.07c. And the damn SFX Volume Slider has no effect on the sounds. I slide it to zero and it's still loud as hell. Is there something I'm missing, for the manual really doesn't have any of those interface sections.

Maximus, did you ever find the thread that he is referring to? I have the same problem with SFX and cannot find the answer on this forum. I would like to correct the problem without lowering the volume on the music. Unfortunately, once France goes to war against Spain the sound fx wakes the baby. Then I have more problems than a war!

Yes I did, but can't recall which one it is. But anyway I believe the problem stems from soundcard driver problems. I have a SBLive! with the latest upgrade. If they've made a game that's not compatible with SBLive!, then God help us. Hopefully this issue will be fixed with the v1.08 patch.

I have the same issue, and have a Yamaha sound card, sound effects like war are really loudly annoying, and I cant do anything about it, but turn off my speakers. Damn!
