The shield icons "overlap" the screen at my resolution, 1680x1050. What I mean is that if a shield is partially visible on the right hand side of the screen, the part that is off screen will appear on the extreme left. This is particularly noticable when scrolling in towards the french coast from the atlantic.
I've not tried other resolutions but can certainly provide screenshots if required. Not exactly a major issue in this great game...
