When I create new ship designs when I have two or more ship designs of another type of ship it switches to that type.

For example if I have two classes of corvettes and tried to design a destroyer then it'd switch back to a corvette when I try selecting a section for the destroyer.

This can be bypassed by only having one class for each ship type but I like to have multiple classes of each type for different purposes.

Currently I have the following dlc:
Synthetic dawn
Ancient relics
Leviathans
Galactic paragons
Apocalypse

I will note that I was experiencing this before I got galactic paragons and apocalypse.

I started experiencing this after getting galactic paragons and first contact. Uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice with no changes.

Yeah it's a problem with the ship designation in the code. Basically it sets one class as corvette A and another class as corvette B but when making another class of ship it'll try as destroyer B and that's where it gets muddled up as it only reads the A or B part. At least that's what I've seen in another report.

As I said in the original post, it can be bypassed by only making one class for each type but still very annoying when you want to make different classes for different things.

I just hope this gets visibility and dealt with quickly. It’s the most annoying and immersion breaking bug for me. Basically just playing pacifist civilizations until fixed.
Yeah. Fortunately with the changes to missles as just a small slot weapon I usually just as kinetic weapons to corvettes as that way my early game corvettes eat through shields and hull alike.

This has been reported already and is being investigated. The current workaround is to manually name ships.

I will try when I get home but I think it doesn’t care about the name. Someone commented on another post saying it’s something in the code that turns new ship designs into base corvettes because it won’t recognize that another design is being edited.

Oh you’re talking about that bug. The culprit is th UI for this one as you mentioned, but everything is shifted in this case. Ex: Creat new design> ship selector (defense platform)> destroyer was selected.

Editing/renaming existing designs is the workaround I use.
