A friend and I are playing as lords in the North, which is ruled by a lord paramount who is under the king of the Iron Throne. The Iron Throne decided to invade Braavos, and while the lord paramount of the North decided to remain neutral, my friend, lord of Karhold, elected to aid the Iron Throne. Taking this decision rendered Karhold independent, and shortly thereafter, the lord paramount of the North (who should technically still be his liege) declared war on him. This doesn't make much sense and I don't think it should be possible.
Essentially, by deciding to help the Iron Throne in a war that did not involve the independence of the North whatsoever, Karhold basically doomed themselves because it allowed the North (which, again, should technically still be their liege) attack them. At the very least, Karhold should have had the Iron Throne as their liege temporarily (even though this wouldn't have been ideal since the raising of troops wouldn't have been optional, it's still better than being outright independent though).
Are there any plans to improve this?
