Lets not beat around the bush, the least interesting country in the Balkans is Bosnia. This was mitigated a few years ago by adding Herzegovina and a new province too, but playing it still feels boring compared to Serbia or Albania. Even its ideas are lackluster, which would be fine if you had some sort of mission tree to follow (i should also state alongside cili is the only one in the region not to have a mission tree).

My proposals (some just wishful thinking), which could make it more interesting to play:

-A new religion, the Bosnian church, which would improve historical accuracy.
This should be however coupled with an event that would pop up at the beginning of the game, which would determine if you shall convert to catholicism or remain a member of the Bosnian church. The former should give you an improved relations modifier to all catholic countries bordering Bosnia + the papal states, however, all Bosnian church provinces gain unrest and lose 1 dev (Herzegovina would gain that dev in a random province/s to reflect the migration of the members of the church did after being exiled from Bosnia). If Bosnia stays devoted to the Bosnian church, it gains a negative relations modifier to all catholic states bordering it + the pope but you get to experiment and play with the religion.

-A mission tree for Bosnia (which it would share with Herzegovina), this is something you guys should discuss since I'm really bad at making mission trees. However, it should have 2 separate branches, one for the expansion of Bosnia (alongside expanding its army and navy after acquiring a port through its missions) while the other would focus on economic and diplomatic development.
The former should have Bosnia focus on uniting the western Balkans and liberating it from the Hungarian and Venetian yoke, while later on focusing on expelling the Ottomans.

The economic-diplomatic part would however be more interesting in my eyes as it should include a similar mission to the one Croatia has to make an Emporium/Market town out of Zagreb. Historically speaking, the city of VrhBosna (modern-day Sarajevo) too was a small market town, but with the arrival of the Ottoman empire and it would expand immensely to become one of the biggest and wealthiest cities in the Empire (the Ottomans should be able to get this event too). Maybe it should even deal with curbing noble influence and reaching out to its old ally Ragusa.

-Add the Old Bridge as a monument in-game. This one is the most realistic one as the western Balkans seriously lack any real monuments, and seeing as the old bridge was at the time of its construction a very impressive feat of engineering it would be a welcome addition to the region, giving it much-needed flavor.

-A total revamp of the idea set.
Some ideas are lackluster, while others are simply pointless for such a country. Again, someone else should think up how this should look.

-Make Herzegovina a tributary or a vassal of Aragon, just to make the game more interesting and historically accurate.

What are your ideas? How would you change Bosnia?

What tribute did herzegovnia send to aragon?
Quote from the Wikipedia article on the duchy of saint Sava aka Herzegovina

"On 15 February 1444, Stephen signed a treaty with Alfonso V, King of Aragon and Naples, becoming his vassal in exchange for the king's help against Stjepan's enemies, namely King Stephan Thomas of Bosnia, Duke Ivaniš Pavlović and the Republic of Venice. In the same treaty Stjepan promised to pay regular tribute to Alfonso instead of his tribute to the Ottoman sultan, which he had done up until then."

It doesn't specifically mention what Herzegovina paid in tribute, it could have been anything from ducats to raw materials, but if implemented in-game it is best to just have it pay ducats

I see OP getting downvoted, but if they are going to rework the middle east and Balkans obviously Bosnia should get more flavour.
we've seen qing, then ottomans, then japan. it doesn't seem like a middle-east + balkans expansion. rather a 'major powers that could use cool, experimental missions and mechanics since they are a bit barebones right now' expansion. i half expect persia to follow japan, but i wouldn't expect minors like bosnia or byzantium to get anything.

I also hope for a rework on Russia, Timurids and Mughals. Russia tends to be destroyed too easily by ots neighbours, sometimes before it even forms, and could also receive some content if it's formed by Novgorod (or some minor principalty), Timurids tend to last for too long (and prevent Persia from existing) and Mughals almost never appear.
Spain could also be nerfed and receive alternate content when formed by Aragon, Portugal or Navarra, and I guess the same could be done for Great Britain when formed by Scotland.
