G'day Folks,

Every few months I play a game of SM. I was going to launch a game this weekend, but noticed the flurry of activity on the forums and was surprised to find (a) someone was developing for the game again and (b) the current release is buggy.

Has the second hotfix ironed out the issues or should I wait for further attempts to repair? I do not have and am not expecting to acquire any DLCs, if that's relevant.

It is good to play, I've just finished one game up to 100% terraforming, no major issues.
I don't have the Below & Beyond DLC though, so I can't speak for how the game is with it.

I'm personally still waiting a bit for them to iron out the öast remaining ones, but it seems to be that they've gotten the major ones out. Just know that currently the tech for increasing transport storage isn't working correctly and landscaping is extremely fast and kinda broken when you compare to tunnels.

Since publisher/developer decided to make their Beta release game update and new DLC release as finished product release rather than a beta release only for select to test then they have all game owners involuntarily participating in their large scale Beta testing.
Hence it would appear that they expect you to start new games all the time to test if that removes whatever bug that you are experiencing while at the same time they do try to make their public Beta release work with old saves.
However strides made are going rather slow because the release were/is only Beta ready so it will still be at least weeks even from now before they have managed to squash the majority of the bugs that their Beta release has introduced into the games and old saves..
Hence you are better off waiting to play the game until such time that the totally public Beta is out of Beta !! (unless of course that you can be bothered to have to start new games all the time and use MODs to try to make the game behave until developer has)

(Published / Developer might not agree with what I wrote but it's a both fair and factual description)

With the release of Hotfix#3 I've decided it's good enough to play. I'm already on sol 34 and haven't encountered any bugs in my runthrough. And I even get disasters like I'm supposed to! :)
